CB Arts director and founder Chris Brammall is highly regarded as one of the leading metalworkers in the UK. Chris trained as a Blacksmith at Hereford College of Art and Design where he discovered a natural affinity for the art of blacksmithing. In 1994 he established a blacksmiths forge in the Lake District – his unique style coupled with a particular attention to detail saw his work develop from small scale private commissions to large scale public realm pieces and in 2002 he relocated to a purpose built workshop and studio on the edge of the Lake District National Park. As an artist Chris is passionate about delivering work of superior quality which is demonstrated in his portfolio of works that includes bridges, bespoke architectural structures, bespoke sculptures, public realm furniture as well as gates, railings and balustrades for private clients.
Paddy & Graham have between them 30 years’ experience of blacksmithing and bladesmithing. We run courses in sword making, blacksmith tools, hammers, welding and fabrication. On the sword and hammer making courses the student has the use of 2 air hammers, 2 hydraulic presses and a flypress. All modern tools are also used to make the courses easier for students such as grinders. find us on, https://www.craftcourses.com/providers/art-of-fire-crafts

Ian first started blacksmithing having decided that office work wasn’t necessarily for him.
Starting work with a local blacksmiths firm in April 2008, by the end of the first day Ian was hooked. He promptly signed up to the blacksmith course at Warwickshire College where he spent 2 years training with Michelle Parker to obtain his National Certificate in Blacksmithing.
In March 2011, Ian was awarded a journeymanship by the Princes Foundation for Building Community. This gave him the opportunity to work with a number of well renowned blacksmiths throughout the country, providing Ian with invaluable experience.
Upon completing his studies in 2012, Ian returned to the Dorset-Wiltshire borders where he has joined Tony and Paul Sparkes at their forge in the village of Berwick St John where he has completed a wide variety of commissions ranging from simple fire sets to complex sets of gates, railings and balconies.
The forge also offers a wide range of fabricational facilities for structural metalwork.
Ian’s personal interest lies in ancient metalwork and he has an ongoing commission from the Ancient Technology Centre to create replications of tools used in the Roman, Saxon, Viking and Medieval periods.
In 2013, Ian was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths for works done to date.
Established in 2017 by myself Jay Hall, I offer outstanding workmanship and attention to detail to any project.
I have a background in engineering, welding and education and have been fortunate enough to combine this experience with the passion I have for the ancient art of blacksmithing and transform it in to my business and career.
I completed with distinction, the Design and Forgework Skills course at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford and was awarded The Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths Stanly Alcard Memorial trophy.
I’m always available to discuss projects or commissions large or small, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

ARTESIAN METAL FABRICATION FROM GEDDING MILL
Welcome to Gedding Mill, we are an artesian fabrication company with contemporary skills and a track record of excellence spanning more than three decades.
Not your average Metalworkers
Gedding Mill Limited operates from a newly constructed, purpose-built, 5000 Sq. Ft workshop in Suffolk. We create a wide variety of metalwork for interiors, industrial, retail and domestic customers using Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, Brass and Aluminium. We work meticulously to exact specifications and ensure we deliver the goods on time and on budget.
We have an eye for detail, with the range of skills and knowledge in the team, we can design and produce solutions for commercial projects and private clients alike. It is usual for us to work with companies that often have a very short and mission critical lead time. This is a responsibility that we take very seriously. We maintain our promises and understand its fundamental importance.
How we work
Customer service and clear communication are fundamental to our success and this goes both ways. In order to ensure we deliver exactly what our customers want, we need to be 100% clear on the brief and specification. Once this is agreed and signed off by the customer, we get to work. Our quality control is rigorous as we won’t gamble our reputation on a less than perfect product.
We have grown steadily through repeat business and recommendations and over the years our customers have tested our metal (no pun intended) by giving us more complex and unusual projects. We embrace these projects with energy and enthusiasm as we love a challenge!
